Linux
I have been into Linux for about 4 years now. My current Linux setup is combined of 2 Debian Lenny servers, 1 IPCop firewall, and a Gateway 7330GZ laptop running Linux Mint 4.0. At work we have a Centos 5.1 server running an enigmail mail server. My preferred distro is Debian. I started on Sarge, moved right on through Etch, and am now running Lenny. I love the stability of Debian, but the stability proved to get in the way when running it on my laptop. Getting the wireless and sound working was a 2 week test of my patience, and getting compiz running was out of the question. The final straw was NTFS support. I was running NTFS-3G, but could never get the ability to write to USB drives with NTFS. Finally I put in a Linux Mint Live CD and was shocked. It found the wifi, and installed the broadcom drivers. Sound worked without configuration, compiz was running, and when I plugged in my USB drive, I was able to write to it. That's all it took.
